How do I water?
Open the shed (get the lock code from the office staff).
Take the ‘key’ from the hook inside the shed and gently turn the nut on the “flap door” at the tap, either left or right
to release the door.
Roll the hose reel over to the tap and attached the threaded end to the tap.
Attach the watering wand to the hose using the quick release connectors (slide the sleeve down on the “female” end and insert the “male” connector).
If you haven’t attached the watering wand before you turn on the water, it will come gushing out!
Next, use the key to turn the water on… turn to the right until you hear the water flowing and then turn a bit more.
You’re ready to water.
Tips:
Always give a little drink to anything you have just planted (called “watering in”).
Avoid watering in the heat of the day… you can actually burn the leaves if hot direct sun shines on the water, plus you’ll lose a lot of water to evaporation.
Ideally, you want to give about an inch of water, roughly every few days in warmer weather. Sometimes we put a tuna
can in the garden, turn on the sprinkler and leave it until the can is filled up, then you know you have the right amount.
